Multimodal transport is a delivery in which the cargo travels by more than one mode: truck and rail, or truck and sea. You deal with one provider and get one rate for the whole delivery, and we are responsible for the cargo along the entire route, including transshipment at a port or terminal. We do not sell rail or sea freight on its own: they appear in the route as legs of a single delivery.
Truck + sea. The cargo goes by sea to the port of Poti in Georgia and then continues by truck across the Caucasus and the Caspian Sea. For example, from Hamburg the route would be Hamburg — Poti — Tashkent.
Truck + rail. The cargo travels by rail across China or Kazakhstan, and the last part of the journey is made by truck. An example of such a route is Yiwu — Almaty — Tashkent.
Multimodal transport pays off on long routes and for heavy cargo, when the price or the time of such a scheme is better than plain road freight. It also suits oversize cargo: we choose a low-bed trailer for the road leg. Not every cargo is worth sending this way, so we always calculate both options, road and multimodal, and you choose by price and time.
You send a request: origin, destination, what you ship, weight and volume, and when the cargo will be ready. The manager selects a scheme and calculates the options.
