How a shipment from Uzbekistan to Europe moves

From Uzbekistan to Europe there are two routes, and the customer chooses between them. The first runs through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. It suits any cargo, and a full truck takes 15 to 28 days on it, groupage 18 to 34. The second runs through Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus. It is faster, 10 to 23 days by full truck and 13 to 29 by groupage, but it is not open to every cargo, because restrictions apply on this path. The manager checks which option is available for your cargo when preparing the quote. We count transit time from loading in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara or another city to unloading in Europe.

Through the Caspian Sea and Turkey. Export clearance is done in Uzbekistan. The truck leaves through the Tazhen — Daut-Ata crossing, drives across Kazakhstan to the port of Aktau and crosses the Caspian Sea by ferry to Alat in Azerbaijan. It then drives through Azerbaijan, enters Georgia at Red Bridge, crosses into Turkey at Sarpi and continues through Turkey to the EU border at Kapikule.

Through Russia and Belarus. The truck leaves through Zhibek Zholy, drives across Kazakhstan, crosses the Kazakhstan–Russia border and continues through Russia and Belarus to the EU border at Kukuryki — Kozlovichi.

Transit time to the delivery city (full truck):

• Tashkent to Germany (Frankfurt): 16–28 days via the Caspian Sea and Turkey (about 6,900 km), 10–22 days via Russia and Belarus (about 4,700 km);
• Tashkent to Italy (Milan): 15–28 days via the Caspian Sea and Turkey (about 6,600 km), 11–23 days via Russia and Belarus (about 5,200 km).

What affects transit time

For Germany via the Caspian Sea the time adds up roughly like this: 12–14 days on the road, about a day for loading, half a day to a day for export clearance in Uzbekistan, half a day to 2 days at Tazhen — Daut-Ata, half a day to a day at Red Bridge, 1–3 days at Sarpi, 1–2 days at Kapikule and 2–5 days for the ferry. The total of 16–28 days is not a simple sum of the highest values. The upper limit allows for the worst case only at the narrowest point, and here that is the ferry.

On the route through Russia and Belarus the narrowest point is the Belarus–EU border, where we allow 1 to 5 days. With several borders on the way, add a day for weekends, when checkpoints work more slowly. Whether a transfer at the EU border is needed, the manager will confirm in the quote.

The second factor is paperwork. Cargo is most often held up by mistakes in the invoice or missing certificates. We check the documents before dispatch, so you do not have to deal with them at the border.

Groupage takes 3–6 days longer than a full truck: the truck is put together from several consignments.

What we carry and in what

The most common cargo from Uzbekistan to Europe is textiles, dried fruit, cotton yarn and ceramics. A full truck makes sense from 10 tonnes or 40 m³, and we use tilt trucks, reefers and container carriers. For cargo that needs a set temperature, choose a reefer and say so in your request. For smaller loads, use groupage, starting from a few pallets.

Documents you need

From you we need the invoice, the packing list and the contract with the buyer. If your goods require certificates, for example a certificate of origin or a phytosanitary certificate for dried fruit, prepare them in advance.

We take care of the rest: we prepare the CMR consignment note, the TIR carnet and the customs declaration, and we select the HS code from the description of your goods. After your request, the manager will tell you exactly what your cargo requires.

How much shipping costs

There are no prices on the site: rates change every day. The price depends on the loading and delivery cities, the route, the truck type, the weight and volume, the season and customs. To get a quote, send us the origin, the destination, what you ship, the weight or volume and the date the cargo will be ready. During working hours, 9:00 to 18:00 (Tashkent time), a manager replies within 5 minutes with the price and transit time for both routes, where both are available, and then keeps you informed about where your cargo is at every stage.
